Hello i have bmw e60 525d.automatic. trying to start engine, starter works for couple seconds and then stops. Takes about 5-10 times pressing start up button to start up engine. Glow plug control been changed. Some times have fault code: starter motor terminal 50 Can you give me advise, please? Thank you.

Anyone know where the paint color code is located on a 523i 2006 E60? I see a series of numbers and codes on the headlight case, but no color name. So can't be sure that's it. color code it took a few times looking under the hood to find mine. I was told it was on the strut tower. But it was located on the driver side, under the hood, to the right of the brake fluid reservoir, on the inside of the fender in the engine compartment. Hard to explain but thats where mine was. The color and code were there. good luck
It was like the idle was affected. This time I decided to really dig into the troubleshooting and started running the codes against my Bentley Manual as well as the forums. One of the codes was 5F76 DSC : Under the DSC Modules as Engine Management Interface. This code had a few hits on the web that pointed to the Integrated Supply Module (IVM).

Use a small flathead screwdriver, lever tab up to release then pull connector out of sensor. Remove camshaft position sensor E8 fastener. (green arrow) Do not reuse this fastener. Throw it away once removed and replace with a new one. Pull camshaft position sensor out of cylinder head.
